I've been dealing with plantar faciitis for a few years. It did go away for about a year in a half, but I think with my recent weight gain it came back. For the last two months I've also been dealing with some calf pain. My good friend suggested I try Airrosti to alleviate my pain. I finally went a few weeks ago. It's a form of Soft tissue therapy. Think of a super painful deep tissue massage. haha. The do some manual work (massage) for about 30 min or so and then they go thru some PT that you can do at home to help your injury heal. Lastly they tape you up. I don't understand how that magic taping works, but it really does work wonders. I used it before on my hip when I was running long distances. It's just magic.
So anyway, I went to the Airrosti place for three visits. The first two were painful, but I felt better afterwards. This last visit on Monday however left me with tender feet for three days. I was supposed to have one last appt today, but cancelled because quite honestly, tender feet sucks and I want/need to run this weekend. I've done nothing since LAST weekend, so tomorrow's run is going to be interesting. haha My next race is in October and it's a 10K. 10th Race, 10th Month, 10K. Get it? :) So, yeah anyway... I will rest next year. haha
I plan to continue all the stretches they showed me, ice a few times a day, tape up my legs & feet, and get back to eating healthy, because having less weight on my feet will obviously be very beneficial.
Here's to getting back to more steps on the fitbit too! That's really suffered the last two weeks. Next weekend we'll be flying out to Colorado to visit my best friend. Haven't seen her in six years!!!! Maybe I can do a run out there too... although we'll see how that goes with the elevation change. haha
