Beginning of the week

We had a lovely weekend trip toward the western part of the state. Traffic was heavy around the state capital because of a football game.
Our hotel room was large and comfortable. Why they put a tub shower in a "wheelchair accessible" room is beyond me. It's hard to find handicap rooms with walk-in showers.
I gave up trying to log in on Spark People at the hotel because Internet was slow, impossible to get on. It broke my log-in streak, but as another member pointed out: it's only a number.
They offered a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. I stayed within calorie limits most of the trip and didn't gain like I usually do when away. It's possible to keep the calories down but hard to stay on plan when I can't cook my own meals.
The weather was windy, rainy and colder. Did we miss Indian Summer? The leaves are only beginning to change colors. Still a lot of trees sporting their Summer greenery.
Today we met friends for lunch at a buffet restaurant. It was the main meal for us today so calories were fine. When logging everything in the nutrition tracker, I was amused to see a member-created entry for that restaurant as "too much to list" with zero calories given. Wouldn't that be nice?
We've eaten at that restaurant often enough that we know what we like and don't have the urge to try everything. Desserts are nothing special so I usually finish with fruit from the salad bar. We lingered long and enjoyed talking and laughing and a bit of silliness. It was a pleasant afternoon.
* * * * *
I am blessed with wonderful siblings.I have two living sisters and two brothers. I am thankful for my sister who lives with me. I am thankful for another sister who calls every day as we both walk through our journey with cancer.
I am thankful that a new Bible study group starts tomorrow. It will be great to meet up with old friends and make some new friends.
I am thankful for naps. There is something decadent and deeply refreshing about snoozing in the sunlight.
