How I can survive the holidays

So with all the holidays fast approaching I find myself trying to come up with a plan to help survive without a weight gain! My pitfall is I always feel like i have to eat everywhere I go. We have a big family so we have a lot get togethers. So this year I am going to make sure I am constantly telling my self you don't have to eat everywhere or everything. I am going to try to not hang out and talk in front of the food so I am not tempted to eat or eat mindlessly. I am going to eat sensibly and only allow one dessert a day. Make sure I eat healthy at my meals at home so I don't go overboard everywhere else. I can do this, I know I can. And I challenge anyone who reads this to make your own plan and get it out there so you are more apt to stick to it! Happy sparking my friends!

    I have heard this a lot of times...eat something good for you before you go, so you will not be hungry. I Like the plan of sampling a bit of everything so you don't feel like you are missing out, and to stay away from talking in front of the food..that's a great idea!

    Good luck. This is probably the most difficult time of the year for us that are trying to eat healthy!

    Good plan! You can sample something at each gathering. Pick special family favorites and watch potion size. Find distractions like lively conversations, games or playing with little ones. Drink water to your heart's content and enjoy your family!!!!!

    That sounds like a really reasonable plan because you are not totally denying yourself but are planning moderation. It seems like that should make it easier to accomplish without feeling deprived. emoticon

    It will help to have a snack of freggies or bowl of soup (none cream soups) before your gatherings.
