It is finally here. Today is Surgery Day. I started the preps yesterday. I am shuddering and smiling in amusement at the same time. Isn't life an adventure? I have two more pre-op things to do this morning. Surgery is this afternoon.
If all goes well, I could be back Monday. This part will be behind me.
The morale of the story is: Don't skip your annual checkups and the occasional other things you are supposed to do. Get your mammograms, pap smears, colonoscopy, etc, when you are supposed to. It won't guarantee that bad things won't happen, but early detection gives you a fighting chance. I'm glad I did.
My gynecologist said, "God was looking out for you," because she wasn't even looking for this when she did the D&C in July. The cancer was hiding.
Prayers are appreciated.
