Wurst 5 Mile Run
Monday, November 09, 2015
This weekend I participated in the Wurst 5 Mile Run in New Braunfels. It's part of Wurstfest (think Octoberfest) festivities.
It was pretty chilly (60's) for us South Texans, but once we got started, it was perfect running weather. It was supposed to rain on and off all morning, but there wasn't a single drop during the run. I did pretty good. I did a 3/1 split for the first four miles. (run 3 min/walk 1 min). The last 1 1/2 mile there was a lady that was either right behind me or right in front of me. She was shuffling her feet and it was driving me crazy, so I ran the last mile just to put some distance between us. haha I don't care if people shuffle when they run, but the noise really bothers me. I have misophonia, so certain noises really drive me up the wall.
Our next and last race of the year will be next month at the Natural Bridge Caverns. It's a 5K at night and should be a lot of fun.
I've also started my official half marathon training for the cowtown half in February. I'm not crazy excited about this race, do to the weather, but I'm going to start praying now for good weather.
