For the past 3 days we have had workers here installing our new windows. Monday they blew in like a tornado - 4 guys working at the speed of light. One or two guys in a room, two or three rooms torn apart at the same time. Daisy and I hid downstairs in my husband's office - he had to hang out to move things and uninstall window treatments. Two thirds of the new windows had been installed.
On Tuesday only two guys came but it felt like more. The morning started with rain but as soon as it stopped they quickly installed the remaining 5 windows. But taking out the old windows and putting in the new is only one piece of the project. There's additional pieces to add and calking to be done. They finished up about 2 p.m. and I could put my living room back to normal.
We weren't expecting them today because rain was predicted all day. Imagine my surprise when I got up to go outside with Daisy and the sun was shining and a big truck & trailer were in my driveway. I'm grateful for the sunshine today - they are working on the outside piece of this project. Today it's three guys and while they are not underfoot, it's pretty strange to look up and see someone at your window. They have to repair some of the outside as well so there's a lot of pounding noise. Daisy was better when they were in the house - she figured they belonged here. Today she's really restless with all the noise.
And surprisingly, I'm restless too. The fact that I CAN'T go anywhere makes me feel like I NEED to go somewhere. I've also discovered that I must be a stress-eater, because that's all I can think of today. So I made some soup in the crock pot - easy dinner for tonight. I've gotten my dining room back to normal. And now I'm going to knit for awhile.
OH, the windows are amazing. They are so clear that it feels like we're outside - not looking through two dirty panes of glass! And we can already feel the difference at keeping out the cold. I couldn't have asked for a better team - these guys have done a great job.
