Hallmark Christmas Movies

Saturday, November 21, 2015

I love Hallmark movies, especially their Christmas movies. In fact, I love all Christmas movies. But I'm starting to wonder if perhaps I've become too attached to these unrealistic portrayals of the holiday season. I've been waiting for my "Christmas Miracle" for most of my life - and that's a very long time.

So today I am challenging myself to go cold turkey - no Hallmark. I love to knit and that's such a great excuse for sitting in front of the television. But I think I need a day (or two, or more) off. I'm getting a lot of knitting done but I'm not doing some of the other things that need to be done.

I woke up in a better mood today and I feel like it's a good day to change things up. We almost have sunshine and although it's chilly outside it's not windy. I'm going to bundle up and get outside with Daisy today - see if we can't take ourselves a nice little walk. I also have some housecleaning to do and I think t would be nice to listen to some music for that! OH, and there's that book I've been trying to finish, and the fish taco's that have been on my menu for a couple of weeks now.

I think it's time I start living MY life!

we just got the Hallmark channel back and I love to watch those movies while I knit. You know in real life things like that just do not happen to you but it would be nice to think, maybe.

I like to knit while I watch them, too, but they are pretty unrealistic, aren't they? I like them because they don't usually have bad language or other surprises in them but you're right about how they affect our expectations. I had to stop reading a series of books that affected me that way. I hope you don't experience too much withdrawal :)

Yes!!! I struggle with movies also. For me ,when I view too much..I'm sorta on the verge of depression. I have to pay attention. I've made up my mind to find me again and live my life. LIVE
