Day 3 after my official diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. I did really good for breakfast the last two days, had eggs and tomatoes. DH forgot to pick up eggs, so I don't know what I'm going to do for breakfast today! Lunch I did really good too, as well as snack, dinner I did really good, but after dinner I did combat feeling hungry and ended up losing and eating something. I didn't go over my calorie limit. It's hard to go over calorie limit when you are eating mainly veggies, but it can be done.

I think I like my new Jillian Michaels DVD, beginner shred. There is one move I can't do, the bridge, my body just does not bend that way right now!! But I will keep working on it till it does!

Undecorating the tree now, can't believe it is still up! Must get the house undecorated!

emoticon Also going to the grocery store today. I'm going to try to find whole grain crackers and other things I can have for snacks that aren't too high in calories. I know veggies and fruits are my best bets, but I need quick snacks that I don't have to prepare that are low calorie that I can take places with me. I'll probably end up ordering the Juice Plus bars, I'll get the new ones (I forget the flavor of the new one). I want some crackers to go with lunch, I usually have a can of tuna (in water of course) and would love to have something to go with it other than saltines, which I should not have (and have not had any this week). I want to look at my veggie options as well. There must be more I can eat! I was eating canned asparagus (I rinsed it out before eating it) but I just can't stand the taste of it, yucky. Then BIL made fresh roasted asparagus, and now I definitely can't go back to the canned stuff!

    Agree. Some veggies need to be fresh. One great trick is using veggies in place of carbs such as cauliflower as the base for pizza. There are so many options out there. Be careful of the fruits as they may have a higher sugar content and ok in moderation. Greek you hurt is very high in protein. Have to watch labels as you want low sugar so have to read as easy to confuse with low fat that can be high sugar. You are really off to an excellent start. So many changes and you are mastering them so well.

    I like to eat brocoli and red or green bell peppers. I also suggest that you try eating frozen veggies. They taste much better than canned and are almost as tastey as fresh vegetables. Changing your eating habits may be difficult at first but it will get easier as you discover all the healthy food choices that are available. emoticon emoticon
