Day 384

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

emoticon I'm feeling so much better! I still have some congestion, but nowhere near as much as it was and I'm not as tired/exhausted as I was. I should be able to make it through today with no nap emoticon

emoticon Back to my Jillian Michaels workout! The interval training really kicks my tail, but I'm positive that if I keep with it, and my cardio afterwards, I will lose the weight. Just gotta get my diet under control!

emoticon Speaking of diet, I'm so ready for my diabetic counseling! I'm reading a lot of different information on how many carbs I should get in a day. It's very confusing. And it makes a huge difference in how I eat!

emoticon I'm going to make my very first veggie chili. This is where I would normally go to DH and get him to 'help' and then he would take over and it would end up being very tasty, but not good for you. So, I'm going to make it myself, and stick to the recipe. I used to cook a lot, but when DH started cooking and getting really good at it, I stopped. I don't cook like he does, and he's very picky about what he eats, so I just stopped cooking. That is going to have to change if I want to eat more healthy. I love things like cabbage stew. He hates the smell and doesn't want it in the house. I'm going to have to just get over the fact that he doesn't like it; he doesn't have to eat it! In most things he's very supportive, don't let this little thing fool you. He's just super picky about food.

emoticon I'm freezing. I dislike this house in the winter. It's high ceiling makes it impossible to keep it warm. I know, bundle up. I do. But early mornings like this, when my fingers are frozen and I'm in workout clothes, so I can't bundle up, Brrrrr. Last night I had on my cardigan and a sweater. My feet felt like blocks of ice and I just could not get warm. Thank goodness all the bedrooms stay warm, it's just the living room, kitchen and dining room that stay cold. I grew up with a wood stove for heat, so I'm used to cold, my room stayed cold all the time in the winter. But I had a heat source to go warm up by. Sometimes I'd take my blanket and go sleep by the wood stove. I miss having that heat source to warm up by. Makes me feel more cold than I am.

emoticon Okay, off to work out!

Hot water bottle! Fill up a good old fashioned hot water bottle and snuggle with it, put it on your feet, etc. It's a great portable heat source, pretty cheap and works fast and well. I take one with us whenever we travel to cold weather places because sometimes the cabins have poor heat distribution and some rooms are very cold. I also use a thick flannel jacket at the beginning of my cold workouts, and then just pop it off when I'm finally warm. Good luck staying warm!

Good morning! Hurray- kick that cold to the curb!!

My dietician gave me a "formula", as I lose weight the amounts change, but not the percentages. Are you taking medication?

Brrrr is right. If you were exercising outside, you would have a light jacket layered over a top ( or two). There are some articles here on Sparks about outdoors exercise. I guess it would work inside also- LOL Sorry babe- no excuse to not exercise : emoticon
We have high ceiling, but also have reversible fans ( summer/winter) so it is comfortable year round.

You are right, you need to stay in control of your food. I am the only cook in this household, but hubby is learning to be my sous-chef ( prepping and dishes!!)
He does make the coffee in the a.m.- it is Biblical- HE BREW- LOL

Let me know how the chili turns out. I have a tendency to make the recipe to the letter the first time, then tweak it as I see fit ( usually to fit what is available in the pantry/fridge).

Have a great day, and if you achieve 75% of your daily goals you have achieved Success. Watch out- Girl on Fire! emoticon emoticon
