Keeping up with the routine!

I made it back to the gym again today, woo hoo! They are doing construction in the complex where my gym is, with the main entrance basically closed to traffic. It would have been easy to say "oh well, can't make it in, let's go home." But I went around the block to another entrance and got in. You can't stop me today!
I ran only 2 miles today as I had a bit of a time constraint and couldn't go too long. So I made the run a bit shorter to ensure I got all the weight training done. My trainer was easing me into it, having me do only 2 reps of each exercise even though he wrote 3 on the workout card. Today, I did 3 reps of ALMOST all the exercises! I was careful not to push too hard or too far, in fact I feel great. (Let's see how I feel in the morning though LOL.)
A funny story though. I use the TRX machine to do squats and backwards lunges, with the straps there to aid in balance. I had to do 15 reps of squats and lunges on each leg, which towards the end was getting hard. I'd stop to catch my breath for a moment, then continue on. After I had finished that rep, I turned around to look for a clock to keep an eye on the time.
Sitting there in a chair, behind me, was an older gentleman (guessing 70-75 years old, good on him for being at the gym!) looking right at me, little smile on his face and nodding, then he gave me a thumbs up. I thought he was looking at my butt! (He had a perfect viewing location LOL.) He came up to me, and started out saying "I enjoyed watching you" (and I'm thinking this is going to go south), but then he went on to say "Several times it looked like you were going to quit, but then you kept on going. Good for you!". Awww, thanks! :)
So that's my funny gym story for today. I hope you got a laugh out of it like I did. :)
