Thanks for your Prayers

Friday, January 22, 2016

This past week has been the hardest our family has ever had to deal with. My 20 year old niece's fiancé committed suicide leaving her to raise their 8 month old little girl on her own. I will never understand why someone who was surrounded by so much love and support felt this was their only solution, and now all the people left behind need to pick up the pieces. It was truly a blessing to see how amazing my family is and how we pull together for each other. I thank everyone for your prayers, I know it's going to be a long road for my niece, but she has lot of love around her, the support of a very close family (she's moved back home with my sister) and God.

I knew we were praying for you and your family I didn't know exactly why until I read your blog. You are all in and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Here is a brief prayer for All of you:
Let there be no whispering, no secrets here:
    Our hearts are broken.
Man our brother and your son took his own life.
And even though it might appear
that he died by his own hand,
no one does this without great, coercing pain,
inner suffering that seems to have no end,
    even though we wish
he knew that no agony is forever.
Source of Compassion, help us to cry out loud,
    to hold each other gently,
    to live with unanswerable questions,
normal feelings of anger and guilt,
and this gaping hole of loss.
Help us to reach out to others who are suffering,
to show them our love, to say the kind word,
and that this is not a choice we condone
    or is worth imitation.
It is hard to see the divine image in the lives of those who suffer.
    The sun sets and rises.
We put one foot in front of the other.
We hold our hearts in our hands.
We lift them up to You, God of eternal peace,
    and to each other.
    Help us live each day.

    Peace good friend! emoticon emoticon
