Day 388/Oral surgery went well

Saturday, January 23, 2016

emoticon Oral surgery went fine. I was more awake afterwards than I've ever seen DH be. I could not stand the gauze being in my mouth when I slept! I managed, but hope I never have to do that again! I had the most horrible taste in my mouth with the gauze. Nothing got rid of it. I'm so happy I don't have to do any more gauze! Now to just keep it clean!

emoticon While the rest of the world was getting snow, we got rain. Lots of rain. My backyard flooded. Then it snowed. So we have a light dusting and everything is frozen. Boo. I wanted more snow! I guess this is better than just it raining and then freezing. The kids are out first thing with the sled I bought them, trying to ride down the tiny little incline we have in the back yard. I didn't want to tell them there was not enough snow, so they are out trying. The dog is beside himself. He wants to go out so bad. He doesn't have much fur (imagine a beagle, thin slick fur), so he would freeze. So he stays inside, poor thing.

emoticon I'm going to go work out today. I'll wait till the kids come inside so I can make them hot cocoa and then go. I'm looking forward to it, as I've not worked out in two days.

I finally told DH that I want to move. This house is just too cold. The doors leak air, there are high windows that I can't put curtains on that let in cold air. We freeze. And during the summer it takes so much electricity to cool the place because the cold air leaks out. I'd rather move during the Summer though, and we have so much cleaning and decluttering to do before we could move. So, I'll continue to declutter/clean and we'll start looking for another house to rent come late spring. Hopefully we can save up enough for a moving company, to do the heavy lifting. or at least hire some guys from the plant that FIL works at to come do the heavy lifting one day. But, I'm getting ahead of myself, lol. Still gotta talk him into moving, maybe. I hate to move the kids, they are not used to moving around and barely remember the last place we lived in. Hmm, what to do.

emoticon gonna try to eat a salad today, and some of that wonderful soup we made. I'm going to make a dough starter so we can have some fresh bread tomorrow. Bread bowls and that soup sounds divine. Not that I can eat much bread, but save up my carbs from other meals so that I can at least have some! Also going to try my hand at wheat bread! Wonder how it will taste.

emoticon Hope ya'll have a great weekend and stay warm!

I wonder if your current landlord would reimburse you if you got some weather stripping to put on the doors where the air leaks out/in? When we used to rent I often did stuff like that, got approval first, and then they just deducted the amount I spent (with a furnished receipt) off our next month's rent. In fact, the landlord was thrilled with all the things I ended up doing to that house. Just another option in case you decide you don't want to uproot the kids.

So glad your oral surgery was successful. You are right the taste is god awful!

Moving is a daunting task, but decluttering is the first step. You can turn some of that treasure into cash along the way and save it for NEW ABODE :)

Oh the bread bowls sound divine!! Once I started eating whole wheat there was no turning back. It has more fiber and controls blood sugars better. There are whole wheat flours that are white- Arthurs Bread flour is one. Do you have a bread maker? If you want to cut back on carbs, try other types of flours like almond etc.

Hope it warms up there and enjoy the weekend!

Hope you can find a place that more meets your needs. Enjoy the kids while you can. They grow up so quickly.
