New "old" stuff. Blah.......

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

It's raining hard. Thank goodness it's not snow!
I managed to attend my pool this morning. Ahhhhhhhhh! Nice warm water, really rocked my exercises and spent some me time in the whirlpool.

The results are back from my MRI and I have a torn rotator cuff tendon. I will see the docs in the next week or so and decide the next step. Apparently I can leave it like it is although it gives me fits when I move a certain way. Heck, it's been hurting since September when I tripped and fell. Textbook way to tear it. The textbooks and medical abstracts also discuss the disadvantages of being a "certain age" when the tear occurs.

Having a repair is tricky from the homefront standpoint as who will take care of who? DH seems to be having a few setbacks this week and we'll be heading back to another MD Monday. We'll be on our own.
DD1 is due any day.
DD2 FINALLY got a job and her DH has interviews this week.

Same old stuff, different stuff.

Remember Rose Ann Rosanna Danna? "If it's not one thing, it's another."

Good luck with that shoulder. Maybe PT can help you put off surgery. One of my employees tore his rotator cuff and he just did not want to go for surgery. He did the PT route. His shoulder is nowhere near perfect, but he did well with strengthening exercises. It's been a year since the injury. FWIW

Don't we just wish we could schedule only one crisis at a time? Never happens.

I found doing my rotator cuff exercises in the whirlpool in front of the jet really speeded recovery: no surgery was needed (and I've had problems 3 times which seems unfair given I ony have 2 shoulders!!)

We are getting hammered with wet gloopy snow. Started before 6AM (it is now 7PM) and no end in sight per weather.com. Tomorrow isn't shaping so good either. Sigh.

PT might help. Check with doc.

Are you going to try PT? Dad has a partial tear (which makes a difference), but feels better with the PT.

Wishing you luck and hope things slow down. LAWRD!

I'm sure that's not a surprise to you. Hoping they can find a way to help that doesn't involve surgery.

You have my sincerest sympathy about the torn rotater cuff. I did that last summer and am still reaping what was sowed. It got so much better then it got worse, then it got better and you guessed it worse again. Don't feel like doing exercises all the time. DH is out on his own on a fool's errand and good riddance for today then I can get done things that can only be done when he is not here.

We're getting the wet gloppy snow. Limbs are falling everywhere. The wind is howling. The satellite dishes went out and I would have been fine to do without but Alpha Chinchilla Runtster, spoiled monster that he is, was fried and wouldn't let Blocker, Porkie, or me rest for him sending out shrieking alarms and musky odors. So out I have to go with bronchitis so a rodent can watch T.V. I would have much rather hit the pool and hot tub with you.

You don't need any torn anything. You have enough to deal with. Let's hope things improve soon. emoticon
