First Weight Loss Goal-- MET!
Sunday, February 28, 2016
I stepped on the scale yesterday morning, and there it was... 1 lb under my first weight loss goal... A total of 17 lbs lost! I couldn't believe. Such a feeling of accomplishment! It started out really rough. I definitely used to consider myself an emotional eater... But now, it's really just a "foodie" thing. I love the taste of food, but now, I know when to stop. Since I have started SparkPeople, I taken every Saturday to eat guilt free (and no, I don't track the food). As the Saturdays have came and gone, I have watched myself go from a "Thank God it's Saturday, time to stuff my face!" to "Yay! It's Saturday, let me treat myself to something, but not go overboard." I have had people tell me that splurge days were a horrible idea, don't do it! But in my opinion, some people need them, especially in the beginning. Some people need that end to their week to say, "Hey! I've been good for 6 days straight. Time to reward myself with something I've really been wanting." My personal advice, take those days if you are finding it hard to say farewell to some beloved foods. Don't let other people make you feel bad about it. As long as you pop back the day after, and understand that you have that one day to be "bad"... You'll be fine! There's more than one way to shed a pound, but all the ways require self control.
I have 29 lbs to go until I'm under 200 lbs. I plan to continue what I have been doing, Zumba 4 days a week and a splurge day once a week.
Seeing myself grow as a person on this journey for the past month and a half has been amazing. I look at food differently, I feel differently... so much healthier. I feel like getting up and starting my day. My house is FINALLY clean, and I'm not sitting around, extremely exhausted from eating toxic foods. I feel like a new person, and I'm beyond excited to see how much farther I'll have traveled in another month and a half!!
