Sunday: A day to waste time with God
Sunday, February 28, 2016
The wind gusts are 30 to 40 miles an hour. A perfect day to go deep into the woods and find a place to rest with God. The wind is high and its force rustled the leaves of last summer allowing me to know ahead of time that the next gust was on its way. Sitting in the sun, eyes closed, I could feel from which direction the wind was coming. Sometimes from the north (and it felt colder on that side of my face) and then sometimes from the west where it felt warmer. Could be my imagination but it was peaceful to sit and observe.
Somedays I just long to be close to God; to find that sacred place like Moses' burning bush. Take off my sandals and "be". No words, no thoughts--just God. I am reminded again that all places and persons are sacred. We are made in God's image. How much richer can we be?
