I did it!!!

Last night all was quiet after dinner. I should have been knitting because I owe someone a pair of slippers but the cleaning mood hit me and that rarely happens. I have two closets in what is now my "sewing room" which I really only use to exercise in these days. Each closet is FULL of stuff I just don't use - out of sight, out of mind.
I decided to clean out the first one which had two full boxes of old VHS tapes and a plastic drawer unit filled with old yarn, fabric and projects I've never started. I am please to say that I have thrown away about 90% of the tapes - I looked at each one, cringed a little bit, but filled up 3 grocery bags. And out they went right away before I could change my mind. I had to keep a few that have video's of my children on them - maybe some day I'll figure out how to get those onto something usable. And then there were my Fred Astaire movies - maybe I'll ask for Fred Astaire DVD's for Christmas next year.
Then I tackled the yarn - all but a couple of skeins went into the bag for the Disabled Vets, who I scheduled a pickup from on April 19th. I still have a long way to go but I'm going to go through every closet, cupboard and drawer before the 19th. I have a lot of nice things that I just don't need or use anymore (like a brand new wool suit I bought when I was still working that I've not even taken the tags off - someone will appreciate that). It feels good!
