My Journey...

Many of you have asked for tips or are just interested in how I got started. So I want to share my story... I started my weight loss journey over 300lbs. I had some of the worst eating habits and was the ultimate couch potato. Many people have profound reasons for wanting to lose weight, like health issues. For my size, health wasn't really an issue. My blood pressure was normal, and I generally felt fine. I have always loved clothes, I tried on an outfit at my heaviest and was disgusted with the way I looked...This was my turning point! I was afraid of surgery, so I decided to take the natural road. I did nothing drastic! I made small changes in my diet and began walking a block daily...(That's all my body could handle). I hung in there and one block eventually became two and so on. The first thing I tackled was late night eating, I gave myself a 7pm eating cutoff time. I then tackled my poor eating...I switched from white to wheat bread. Then slowly introduced more fruits and vegetables into my diet. When my body was accustomed to one change, I made another one. I set small goals I knew I could commit to, this kept me encouraged. In the beginning it was a while before I saw real results in the mirror. I actually lost 50 pounds before my family noticed! My best compliment so far, was going to my doctor and he had no idea who I was!!! My journey has been a long one full of trials and errors, but I have learned so much. I'm taking the time to post this blog to let all my friends know if I'm doing it, so can you! I wish all of you a successful weight loss journey!
