Daisy and Mom have graduated

Today was Daisy's last day of training. She has been doing a terrific job! She has learned to sit on command and stay until I release her - she's a pro at that one. She also has a down command that she usually masters, although sometimes thing startle her and she gets confused. We've learned to walk with a loose leash - we have some practicing to do on that one. She will do it really well when she wants to - but she still wants to be the one in charge sometimes.
This first picture is Daisy and me with the Trainer, Lee Linder. I found out today that Lee is 86 years old. She must have been an amazing training in her day. I was very pleased with the work we did and I liked having individual attention and training geared specifically toward her personality and her nature.
One more photo of just Daisy and me. My husband said "wow, you look so happy"! I was happy, this was a really great experience for both Daisy and me.
I think the best thing is that she is starting to listen to me about other things. We just got back from our walk and she no longer wants to bark at every single person she sees, she's also not pulling me so hard that I can't keep up. We walk at a steady pace and stop every so often to smell whatever there is to smell!
I'm so glad I did this. Daisy will be a much easier traveling companion when we go to Galveston next May to meet Tom's long lost 1/2 sister! That will be my next adventure.
Oh, and one other really cool thing. This is the first time I've had a photo taken that I was happy with. I can really see the weight I've lost. I have more to go but am feeling more motivated every day!
