Today was the local CROP Walk. It's a walk, not a race, and we collect money.
Gorgeous sunny day here in Western Washington. My daughter PURPLESWIMMER, her boyfriend, and I walked the CROP Walk in Olympia today. It is 10K (6.2 miles) and we got donations from friends to help Church World Service "end hunger". One man from our local running team showed up, too, and we represented Club Oly with a banner and everything.
I love the atmosphere at the beginning of races and this walk today was somewhat like that...but different since these were ordinary people who cared and no runners. Since I walk even the 10K races, it was nice to be in the middle of the pack instead of the end.
