On the Team Leaders Team there was a new message thread today questioning the need for and randomness of Team Bonus Points. For those of you who don't do it, it's a section low in the Start Page that allows you to click on Pennants for Teams and both the Team and you get that many SparkPoints that day. You can click on a maximum of 5 Team Pennants. The person who started the thread thought we should be able to click on more than 5.

Here's my personal response:

I like the setup we have. I usually give my points to the teams I lead, then decide which of the others I'd like to give a boost to. I know everything on Spark is only Cyber incentive--like trophio es, Fitness Points, SparkPoints, etc., but it has brought out the competitiveness in me...competing with myself that is. When I get a 50 points for any team I choose, I delight that I'll get lots of SparkPoints pretty easily that day.

Yeah, I know it doesn't really mean anything....except all the bonuses and incentives keep ME coming back to log on my food and track my exercise....and keep maintaining the weightloss I've had. They make it fun!

What do you think? Does the SparkPoints setup appeal to you? I'd love to hear from whoever is reading the blog what you think.

    I like it. emoticon

I never even knew it was there until Dot explained it to me. There is nothing I like more than spinning the spark wheel and the spark bonus wheel. Now I have the flag to spin too. emoticon It is just so much fun for me.

It is also an incentive to collect more spark points so you can spin the flag. emoticon The points on the flag are random so, I always give the first spin to My over 70's Team emoticon and then I always get 5 spins and then I give them out to the ones I am most active on. emoticon

I like the bonus points as is. I only click the pennants for the teams in which I'm active and it's nice to feel I'm contributing to the team.

I just recently figured out where the bonus points are, and I've enjoyed spinning the banner for my teams. I think 5 maximum spins for the teams is quite adequate. I had to LOL one day when I got only 7 points total for all 5 teams!

The SparkPoints have appealed to me. I really like that the Team Bonus Points are a win-win situation. As you said, they help both the SparkMember and the SparkTeam. As ridiculous as it sounds, I believe the SparkPoints have played a part in getting and keeping me engaged and learning about Spark resources. We are rewarded for engaging in the community and research has shown that those of us that engage in the SparkCommunity generally are more successful in attaining their goals.

Oh emoticon emoticon Although I' not happy about the 5 point limit on the bonus points, we have to stop somewhere. I'm unable to give point sot all of my teams so I normally start with those who collect or have the bonus point tracking. I don't receive 50 points often, however I am excited just to accrue the addition points. Keep supporting your Teams as it's always room for improvement on everything! emoticon and emoticon I like points! emoticon emoticon
