Day 497/ Day 24 of 100/ Poncho

emoticon Lazy Saturday. I spent most of the last part of the night fighting DH for the covers, I finally just gave up and let him have them and tried to sleep, but it was cold. So I got up and decided to take a nap later today. It was nice to take a nap, but it was fitful and I stayed in bed too long. Right now I'm drinking coffee and trying to fully wake up so I can go get on the treadmill. Does that seem silly? Taking a nap and then getting on the treadmill?

emoticon Okay, question for you... What do you do when you get a sweet tooth? I have a rather persistent one, I'm craving pastry, with frosting. I want it so much that I can almost taste it. I tried eating a date, which did not help. It's driving me crazy. I'm trying to do a 28 day sugar detox and this is maddening. I know it just takes a while to get the sugar out of my system and then the cravings will go away, but in the meanwhile I'm eating more than I should because of this insistent pastry craving. I'm trying though and that is something.

emoticon I think I'm going to make today a long day on the treadmill. That will be two hours equal to 5 miles if I keep up a good pace. I have not gotten up the nerve to run on it yet. I think I'm afraid of hurting my knees... and of falling off the treadmill. I'll give it a try, just to see if I can. I see on Extreme Weight Loss people that are much bigger than I running (or at least jogging), so why not give it a try?

emoticon I'm starting a new project, a crochet poncho for youngest DD. If I do good with it I'll make one for my other DD and one for myself! It's taking a while, but it's going to be cute. She picked a white one with purple trim. So the last few rounds will be with this three tone purple and then the tassels will be white. I'll post pictures when I finish it. I should have made the first few rounds with purple, but I had already gotten three rounds in before I decided that, and I was not about to undo all that work! I'm 6 rounds in now and it's going to take a bit to get it done, this is a thinner yarn and smaller crochet hook, so it will take time. But it is nice to have another project going.

    I too usually just try to have a bite or 2 of whatever the craving is otherwise I eat everything in site trying to stop it which usually means I eat So Much more.
    The poncho sounds adorable. I hope you post pics when you finish.

    I will usually have a bite of the sweet I am craving and that settles the craving. The poncho sounds adorable will be excited to see it when you finish it. emoticon I just ordered a new treadmill. I decided that I needed a better one than the one I started off with.

    I don't know how to stop the sugar cravings. I let my self indulge in a few pieces ( 3) of dark chocolate. I tried sugar free pudding, but that wasn't my thing. I think the artificial sweeteners are worse that sugar.
    I sue the 1 tsp/day or 2 T/week. 1T= 1.2oz jelly beans, 8 oz lemonade, or 1T jam. www.diabetes.org has some great dessert recipes.

    I get carb cravings rather than sugar- Can you come up with something lighter than pastry with frosting.
    Maybe some berries with Cool Whip? Let me know what you come up with.

    The poncho sounds like it is going to be cute!

    I don't know a recommendation for sweet cravings. I totally have that as well. Perhaps some berries or some sweet fruit. .

    About the cover-hog, my husband hogged the covers like that I pull on the covers, he yanked them back in his sleep. After a few trys, I gave him all of them by throwing all the covers on the floor on his side. He took care of the problem himself.
