Believe in yourself...You're worth it!

Friday, June 03, 2016

Day after day, week after week I would wait for someone to believe in me and most days I would be let down. I have realized this week that I cannot sit around and wait for others to believe in me. I have to believe in myself enough to make a difference. If I don't believe in me then I'm falling short. I'm not saying that it's not good to have others believing in us and being there as our personal motivators; it's great to have them in the sidelines cheering us on. What I'm saying is we (I) can't wait on others before I make changes in me for the future.

This week I started jogging. I began on Monday and here we are on Friday. I have gone from a 17:17 mile (Monday) to a 14:32 mile (Friday)! I feel great after jogging in the morning. Before I began this week, I complained that I didn't have a workout partner. I have a step-daughter who is almost 20. "Why can't she get up in the mornings and come outside and exercise with me?", I would ask myself. My husband would say it's because you have to want to change before you begin to change. Well...yesterday she woke up, came outside, and walk/jogged with me! Then, again today!! And guess what? She said it felt great to jog! I may just have a jogging partner.

I must continue to remind myself that I have to make the changes in myself and not expect others to be there to walk this journey beside me. I can wish for and hope that I will have them, but in the end, I am only responsible for me and my health. I want to be healthy for my kids and husband for many years and the only way I can do that is GET MOVING!!

Remember, you are worth it! BELIEVE in YOURSELF! Get up and Get moving!!

That is very true. No one is going to believe in you if you don't even believe in yourself.
