Weekend Survival...Fail

Monday, June 06, 2016

So much for the best laid out plans. I thought that I had planned well for the weekend. I knew what I need to do. I had all the right tools in place. Yet I still failed. I didn't survive the weekend. I ate and ate and ate. I had no control whatsoever. I just ate what I wanted. I really didn't care.

My weekend was jammed packed with events. I got some good exercise in Friday evening/night. I mowed my yard and pulled some weeds. My flowerbeds will soon hopefully be ready for some plants. However, I blew that exercise by ordering cheesesteak sub from the local pizza shop. Normally, I only eat half of it. I ended up eating the whole sub. Here begins the downward spiral of the weekend.

Saturday morning, I was up bright and early. Only to remember that I forgot to make rice krispie treats for the auction food sale. Thank goodness I live across the street from the grocery store. I quickly got what I needed and made 2 batches. But I forgot to eat breakfast at home. So I had a donut and a bottle of water at the auction for breakfast. You're probably thinking that's not bad. Then I had a hot sausage, 2 rice krispie treats and a small bag of chips. Still not too bad. The real spiral begins at dinner prior to the concert. Let's see...1 hard cider, 5 boneless breaded wings in sauce (I could have had naked wings), french fries and a crab pretzel (I did share some of this). Way to much food! I had nothing at the concert to eat. Only a bottle of water to drink. I did do a lot of walking at the concert. We had to park on the other side of the Giant Center and walk to catch a tram. Then walk to the stadium. The concert itself was amazing. We missed Dustin Lynch performing but we did hear him (outdoor concert). Little Big Town was great! Luke Bryan was amazing! It rained off and on all evening. Luke made the best of it and opened with "Rain is Good Thing." How fitting for the night!

It took forever to get out of the parking lot. We did a quick restroom stop. Of course, I grabbed a drink and a snack. I was hungry at this point. Home late which meant no church for me. For those that know me, I don't normally miss church. I slept until almost noon. I NEVER do that! So no breakfast on Sunday, smallish lunch of strawberry shortcake, cheese and beef stick. McDonald's for supper.

It was a totally off track. Didn't track my food weekend. Not good for just getting back into the swing of things.

Today I'm on track. I'm drinking lots of water to flush my system of the crap I feed it this weekend. I've got more than half of my steps in for the day. I'm going to do what I need to do.

Oh man...at least it was good and you didn't throw your calories away on total crap. I'm from Baltimore, but live in Michigan now. These people don't know what they're missing! Get back on track though ;)

@Snapdroagon04-Yes the concert was in Hershey at the stadium. I had the crab pretzel at Arooga's.

I think when you say to yourself "I have no control" it becomes self-fulfilling. You're more empowered if you say "I have control, and I'm chosing to eat this." Sidebar: Was this in Hershey? Man, I'd love a crab pretzel. They don't have them even no
