It's so nice to see some color in my yard after the long winter. The Peonies are really nice right now and such a rich color. These plants came from my mother's house - she had some beautiful peonies and hostas that I couldn't leave behind when we sold here house.
These are growing in the front and look nice with the daisy's (which are laying down some because of all the rain and wind we've had recently).
In the very back you can see the colorful geraniums I just planted. My grandmother had two built in pots outside her front door and every year she planted them with geraniums - but always red.
At the great suggestion of my spark friend Fredie, I planted some ferns in my built in planter at our front door. They are growing pretty well and starting to send up new shoots.
We desperately need to paint our house this year and looking at this photo - I might be painting the brick planter as well. Or doing something to clean it up. I am not in my front yard very much (so close to the highway) so I tend to forget about it!
And these Peonies were off-shoots of the larger ones in the front. This is their third year in this spot between our house and our neighbors and they are really blooming nicely this year.
Look like more weeding needs to be done. Unfortunately today was a perfect day for it but I had several other things to take care of and now I had to decide to take Daisy for a walk or do some weeding. I chose Daisy!
The garden seeds are starting to grow as well. Yesterday I saw radishes and arugula, today the kale and kohlrabi are coming up. I love this time of year when everything starts growing.
