I did it! Anniversary is tomorrow! 67 pounds down
Tuesday, June 07, 2016
Well, I did what I set out to. I wanted to be able to walk by my anniversary and I am doing it.
I can walk multiple feet without my canes or wheel chair. I have lost nearly 70 pounds.
Everything physical has become easier...there is only one thing keeping me from really enjoying my accomplishment - an ice pack burn. See - I have some serious tailbone problems...mostly due to my weight. I have slept in a chair for years because it hurts to lay in bed (that is gradually changing) Anyway - I have tried trigger point injections and they didn't work, the doctor is considering epidural steroid injections next. For now, he has told me to lay in bed on side or belly as much as possible. (I can make it about 2 hours so far) and he said to ice the spot several times a day for 30 minutes at a time. Well I was doing that but fell asleep with the ice on my behind.I now have a huge blister and cracks in the skin. It is extremely painful. It does limit my movement some but I am still on plan. I just cannot do my seated exercises right now. However I am trying to walk a little more each day.
I cannot thank you all enough for your thoughts, prayers, and good wishes. Please continue to pray for me. We had planned a camping trip for the next 3 days...I am hoping I can still do it!
