A new day
Thursday, June 16, 2016
It has finally stopped raining and the humidity is down. In fact, it looks like we will have a pretty long string of sunny days and I am grateful for that.
Daisy and I just got back from our walk. We met a few new people today. Daisy still barks when she sees someone get close to us and if it's a child she hops up on her back legs. She only wants to make friends but she does sound a bit scary. One little girls said "she's just like my dog". It's the first walk we've taken since Sunday.
We are still waiting for news about my MIL. We were called over on Tuesday afternoon to say our goodbye's, but she is still hanging on. It's hard waiting, knowing that it could happen at any moment. But Tom and I have decided that we need to move forward and just deal with things when they come.
So this morning we got our Truck in for repair. I've made an appointment to have Daisy groomed. I'm getting back on track with my exercising. And now that the ground has dried up a bit and the sun is out I can get back to my gardening.
I am disappointed in myself for letting go of the things that are important to me but I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Today I get back to business. Getting out with Daisy was the first step. I'll do my stationary bike as soon as lunch settles - it has really helped with my knee pain. After that Daisy and I will spent a couple hours outside weeding - that's one of her favorite things. I pull the weeds, she runs them all over the yard! Then I have to search them out to pick everything up - good exercise for both of us!
