How about a blog about ME!

Sunday, July 03, 2016

I've continued to have healthy, good meals in spite of all the drama. I will ignore the tortilla cheese filled pretzels DD2 and I shared for dinner the first night at the hospital. No real food for the weary that time of night.
My exercises have taken a hit as the schedule has become gruesome. I did attack the garage with a vengeance one frustrating day while he was in the hospital. A VERY satisfying fit of cleaning.
Trying to get the man to the infusion site office for 830 every morning shuts me out of the pool and honestly I can't leave him alone except to run to the store.
I increased my thyroid medication per my MD' blessings but I couldn't tell you if there's any change as I'm running around like the mythical headless chicken.

My weight has not changed except a pound one way or the other. At least I've had no regain. Perhaps I'm on the road to small ounce losses I'll see over time.......

I bought two books. New England Bound by Wendy Warren, slavery in the first colonies. I heard an interview with her on NPR and needed to read it.
The other is Waiting to Exhale (forgot the author's name- you all probably know). I also heard an interview with her on NPR and she has written follow ups to the first book. Again, I needed to read this too. I think I have the time!

TERRY MCMILLAN - I could remember "Terri... SOMEBODY" but my foggy memory made me Google it!
Meanwhile my silly puppy has chewed the cover off my new Oregon Trail paperback

Six weeks before the thyroid meds will show a result.
I'm reading too. Saturday requiem by Nicci French, the sixth of the Frieda Kelin series. I am a serious crime/mysteries gal. One of my vices...

Sounds like you are doing excellent to me. Even under all of this pressure you managed to not gain weight and tackled the garage. I hope you find some time soon to get into your books.

Good for you! Taking care of your body and soul is so important. Stress is hard on our bodies- hope you find some way to exercise during this time. It will help relax you.

    Keep on keeping on!

Glad to hear you're giving yourself the gift of good books to read! One of the great joys of life!

Good job with the healthy foods, too, in the face of "drama"... that's one of the hardest times... it will pay off, this "holding the line"...

Now I need to get out of here and go see if my local bike shop is open... when I blog my day's adventures later, you'll know why (teaser, teaser... yep)! But I couldn't resist reading at least one friend's blog on the way! emoticon and have a good Sunday!

Hope the books give you a lift. I remember when my MIL was going through a tough period with FIL suffering with Alzheimers, she bought all the books by Erma Bombeck. After she passed away I saw one of the books and took it to remember her by. Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries I think it was called. I should go get that off the bookshelf and read it again. I feel closer to MIL when I do. And that is a nice feeling!

Love a great read, yours sound intriguing! Making wise food choices is a huge yay for you...magic is happening on the inside. For a break for you, could you maybe consider a visiting nurse a couple hours a week? A friend of mine just arranged for a male nurse to come assist with her father to offer a respite for her?! Hang tough and take care... emoticon

"Waiting To Exhale" sounds like the title of a book you could write!
    I am praying for you.

Oh my gosh, y thyroid is wonked, too, and waiting for word to increase mine as well. Stress + thyroid disease + well, more stress = wonked thyroids, eh! This is usually a tough time for my thyroid anyhow. between fall and winter, spring and summer, my thyroid has to adjust and is not happy to do so.

Soooo . . . HE'S HOME! That's awesome. Hope he's being the good patient (well, we can hope, can't we!!)

good for you for getting books to read . . . good way to relax.
