So this was on my "bucket-list
Started in Leon,Spain walking across northern part into Galicia and to Compostela 2 week trekk and 311 kilometers.
The Cathedral in Leon, Santa Maria de Leon
This is part of the old wall surrounding the city at one time
I just love windows and balconies, this is on the way out of town ,going to Villavante.
a mere 22 KM walk today LOL felt pretty good.Lots of beautiful landscapes.
We stayed at Galochas in Villavante ,awesome host and hostess, ,the inn was originally a mill.
The couple run the inn all by themselves, as friendly as can be, they even fixed sandwiches for the next days walk.
On we go to Astorga.Passing scapes and little towns as we go.
all these holes in the mountain wall are home to little birds, swallows I believe.
It was a wet and windy walk, (for the floridians, there was pure coincidence ,the color of rain capes)
In Astorga for the night,
"The Bishops Palace" by Gaudi, beautiful building.
On to Rabanal.....
a bit rainy on and off the walk today was fairly easy.
Met a falconer and camino official on the way ,we got to hold the falcon too, pretty cool.
just before entering Rabanal, there was a fence with all sorts of crosses, wich previous pilgrims had made. Some in memorial for other pilgrims.
Well now we have a 32 KM walk ahead of us to Ponferrada.
on the path,
made it, It was a tough one , wine needed.
and a final ,,,the dining room ceiling.
We are almost halfway now and i will post the rest tomorrow.
