Allergy Attack
Saturday, July 09, 2016
I've been pretty absent the last week due to feeling AWFUL. My allergies went bonkers last week and continued to make me miserable thru this week. I'm finally feeling better this morning though.
I couldn't figure out what the deal was until I looked up the pollen counts. Grass was HIGH. Perhaps I should state, I am allergic to nature and I also have asthma. The allergist laughed when I told her that and then she did the test and was like "dang, you're right" LOL So, I take allergy & asthma meds EVERYDAY and generally it's not too bad, but last week was "ugh". BUT, I figured out the problems.
1. Outdoor bootcamp. I loved it, but I could tell last week that they had JUST mowed the grass at the park, and that's when it bothers me the most. So all that heavy breathing IN freshly cut grass was no bueno.
2. I have a huge field across the street from me and a huge field next to me that they just mowed.. last week.
3. both of those and apparently we're getting lots of smoke from fires in Mexico/S.America. that certainly doesn't help.
I've stuck inside most of this week, haven't done any exercise. Haven't been able to breathe well from chest congestion. This morning I'm meeting my friends for our usual Saturday morning run. Not sure how much running I'll be doing though. Just need to atleast get out and move. Also my cough is now fairly productive, so breathing is easier.
Anyway. I'm ready to get back in the groove. The good news is, I've done a pretty good job of cleaning out bad food from the apartment because when I'm sick I like junk food and there has been NOTHING to munch on. Or nothing that sounded good. haha
Monday starts our H.E.A.T. Challenge 2.0. I did really well the second week of the challenge, so I'm ready to rock all 14 days this round. There will be a few days that are a bit more challenging due to travel, but I think I can do it.
