A Win!

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

Yesterday was a difficult day. In fact, my friend & I agree'd to just take a sleeping pill and go back to bed next year on July 19th.

I went on a short vacation this past weekend. I left Thrusday afternoon and returned Monday evening. When I returned, I discovered that my apartment manager had had my car towed. Delightful. They repaved the parking lot and sent out notices Thursday night that all cars had to be moved from a certain section for pavement work on Monday. So, yesterday I had my first experience getting a car from the tow company. Impound lot I guess. It was interesting. I will say for the amount of money I paid I would have expected valet service and a car wash atleast!!! emoticon I'm obviously going to try to get the apartment complex to reimburse me. 1 business day does not quantify as a "noticfication" for this. ugh.

On top of all this, my computer just gave up on me. Luckily, I'd been saving up for a new computer, but I was really hoping my current one would last me a bit longer. I DO love my new computer though. I had an old, small, SQUARE screen and now I have a huge widescreen monitor!

The win, in all this, is that, in the past, when things have gone wrong and I'm feeling sorry for myself, I tend to "treat" myself with a sugar snack.... or two. However, yesterday I was REALLY good and stayed within my eating plan. I even got more steps than I usually do on Tuesdays! Of course, wondering around an impound lot looking for my car helped tremendously! LOL I met my step goal, which was a first for a few days since I had been traveling. It's hard to get steps in on road trips!

The plan is to carry on and continue getting my steps in and really concentrate on my eating plan.

Love that you took care of yourself while taking care of business! That really was not very fair of the apartment complex. Hope they help with the bill.

Good job not using food to "soften the blows" yesterday. You are making positive changes in your life. Keep sparking.

Good for you for asking for reimbursement. I would have done the same in that situation. Awesome on the steps!

Way to turn negatives into positives. I struggle with that, as well as the feel good glass of wine (mega calories) when down.
