I've been convicted lately of how I spend my time. I'm reading a book and there's a paragraph or two that talks about "conscious living". The book had bullets to determine if you're living consciously... and I'm sad to say, I wasn't! I surf the net and watch TV mindlessly. Now, I'm not saying everytime I'm on the internet or watching TV I'm doing so mindlessly. However, I do it more mindlessly than consciously. I tend to come home from work, turn on the TV to a TV series I've seen upteen million times and just veg on the couch. DH comes home and joins and often evenings go by and we accomplish nothing besides fixing and eating dinner! We're not LIVING. So, I decided that from now on, when I come home from work I would NOT turn on the TV.
I'm starting a new study with a few close girlfriends. It's a study on marriages, so I asked my husband to take a "love language" quiz. We took one when we were going thru pre-martital counseling, but I suspected that our love languages had changed and I was RIGHT! Turns out DH feels most loved when I spend quality time with him! So, the last week or so I've been working on REALLY spending actual quality time together. It's lead us both to being more conscious of how we spend our time. We're both going to start doing the same bible plan, where we'll read a short devotion and scripture. We decided that we'd each do it when we got home from work. We won't do it together persay, but we will be holding eachother accountable.
I'm also still trying to come to grips with the fact that I need to slow down and not worry about working out so much. I probably didn't word that right. haha I really need to start losing weight again, I've been stalled for awhile. For me, personally.... the weight is not going to come off thru exercise, it's going to come off with restricting my diet and for me thats carbs. I have one more half marathon I've already committed to this fall, but after that, I really think I'm going to slow down. I'm going to keep running of course, but I'll keep the distances shorter. I'm also going to work on training healthier by eating smarter this fall. I have plenty of resouces as my disposal several books on training low carb. I'm good to go on knowledge, I just need to put it into practice!
Lastly, I am currently working on really scheduling my days out. Not that I need every minute planned, but I think sticking with a tight schedule for awhile will keep me on track and get everything I want done, accomplished. Thankfully I have my awesome passion planner to help me with that!
Will post schedule and pictures soon!
