I've been having trouble with a spot on my foot for the last month that's got progressively worse. Since I'm starting my HM training this weekend, I figured I'd better get it checked out. I was really hoping the doctor wouldn't tell me to rest for a few weeks. haha I was playing several different scenario's in my head regarding the outcome of this appointment.
Turns out, I had an inflammed ligament in my toe. I can't say I was suprised by this. I also have PF which is similar... inflammed facia. Let's just say... my feet are inflammed. LOL Sounds awful. So, the doctor said, I can give you a shot if you don't mind.
Um... I generally don't mind shots. I was a sickly kid and generally speaking, I'm very "whatever" when it comes to shots. BUT IN MY FOOT?!?! So, I put on my brave face and said "sure". Thankfully he sprayed it first to help numb it and then he GAVE ME A SHOT IN MY FOOT. You guys, that hurts! Although, one might assume that, I just wanted to warn you.

My foot was pretty sore last night, but I'm good today. I'm supposed to not run for a week and then when I do start, just try to ice my foot AS SOON AS I'm done running. Since my training runs will be at different locations, I'll have to get a cooler or something to take ice water so I can soak when I'm done. Maybe I'll take my foam roller and get that done too. I'm SO bad at doing that post run. Need to make better habits with my running for sure. I can't imagine that wouldn't help tremendously.
So, the good news is I can start my training. I'm honestly going to see how I feel on Saturday. I may run, even though I'm supposed to take a week off. It's the first training run and it's intervals for 3 miles. Not too bad and I've been doing 3 miles, so it's not any longer than I've been doing.
Here's to healthy feet!
