Just met with a nutritionist.
Maintaining 80lb loss for two years, but the scale isn't budging any further.. Even with 6 exercise classes a week... Nutritionist said that maybe this is where I am meant to be, if my metabolism is really slow. Torn whether to take this is good news or bad. Bad news means that it will be really difficult for me to lose anymore comma though I would like to get rid of 30 more pounds. Good news means that I really am working as hard as I can and it's not my fault that I am stuck at where I am, in the 190s.
So going to increase carbs, up my calories to 1400 - 1500 range, and maintain protein at above 60 for the next month, and we will see what happens. Fingers crossed!

I know how you feel! I lost 50 pounds on a paleo diet and maintained for 4 years, but no matter what I did I could not budge beyond that (and at 5'3" the 190s were so not my stable weight). What worked for me is dropping my carb and upping my fat... since November I've eliminated another 75 lbs. and am still going down. I posted progress pics on my blog.

Check out this book and see what you think:

As for the ankle/body weights, I agree... not a good idea. I know someone who acquired permanent injuries doing this. The only safe option with which to do this is weighted body vests, and even then I wouldn't wear it all of the time.

I wish you the best in breaking through the weight loss wall!

thanks AWAKENEDSOUL! I just went on a brief research adventure about wearing weights. Apparently the risks (stress on extremities) overwhelm the benefits; they're to be worn only for exercise, not all day long. Here's one of the sources http://fitness.stackexchange.com/qu
