The 5% Fall Challenge

I just completed my first ever 5% challenge and while I didn't loose 5%, I did loose just over 3% which is actually amazing for me. And doing the interim challenge over the past 3 weeks I've dropped 2 more pounds! I started a new bible study class this past Wednesday and one of the women who I was with during the winter 'Treasury of Healthy Living' bible study said "Wow, I can see that you are still eating healthy!" What a compliment. And the truth is, while I am eating healthier than in the past, I am also exercising more thanks to the 5% challenge.
So the Fall challenge is coming up - starting on Saturday, September 24th. There is still time to sign up if anyone is interested. This link is to our page.
I can't say enough good things about these challenges. The support is amazing and for me, the accountability to my team members kept me going - even when I didn't feel like going anymore.
I also have to thank one other person (well, dog). My little dog Daisy has been my coach. On June 22nd I made a commitment to her to take a walk EVERY MORNING - little did I know that she would hold me to it. I get up and get dressed first, we go outside to see if there are any squirrels to chase, and then I have my 1st cup of coffee. She'll wait about 20 minutes - when she decides it's time she come over and looks at me. That's the "don't you think you should put your shoes on now" look. And so we go. Some mornings it's just a mile, other mornings it's a bit over 2 - during the fall challenge I plan to hit the 3 mile mark!
