Trying something new

For the last week I have been having some strange feeling behind my left knee. It doesn't really hurt but it feels like my leg can't hold my weight. This morning when I first got up I could barely walk on it at first, which led me to believe that I needed to stretch more.
In one of my lifetimes I was a dancer, and I taught dancing - so I know the importance of stretching. But do you think I listen to myself - not always! Since I've stopped dancing I've done yoga to keep myself limber, but I've gone days, weeks, even months sometime without practicing. The whole idea of having to put on workout clothes seems overwhelming to me - silly I know. So I had a wonderful idea.
In yesterday's blog I said how Daisy is my motivator - she gives me that look until I put my shoes on and we go out for a walk. But getting up at 6 a.m. it's too dark to walk. I've been watching the news until it's light enough to go - but really, who needs the news these days. Then the idea came to me. I can take her outside right away when we get up and then do 20 minutes of yoga. That will limber me up for my walk and by the time I'm done it will be light enough to walk. We tried it this morning.
At first she wasn't very happy with me - so she got into bed with my husband. As soon as the tape was over she left him and came into the room, only to be disappointed because I was still stretching. Darn she said - back to bed with Tom. When she heard me get up she was back again. We were both ready to go. At first my leg was a little bit weak but after about 1/2 a mile the weird feeling went away and I've been fine all day so far.
So this is going to be my new healthy habit - yoga in the mornings BEFORE walk. Daisy will be on duty making sure both things get done! What would I do without Daisy! Here's another example of "the look". She was pretty good at it even as a puppy!
Have a wonderful day everyone.
