Determined again and will do it...

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

2 years ago I lost 37 pounds. I kept it off most of the year, then gained 3 pounds - so what the heck... and it went on like that until I gained about 20 of it back.

This August we took a road trip for 3 weeks in the US. I put on about 8 pounds in that time alone however, 5 of it was immediately lost when we got home to sensible eating.

I am wearing the same stretchy 2 pair of pants and a few shirts that fit my overweight body and will not buy more clothes...I have plenty at my lower weight. So to fit in my clothing is a goal, to look better is another and for my health is the major reason I must lose weight...goal is at least 20 pounds...

Maintaining can be harder than losing weight. Having a plan to maintain before you need it is said to help! I think I will use fasts to maintain my weight when I get to goal.

There is a point reached in dieting when it becomes normal to not eat the extra calories. When I was at my best I didn't even care for them... If only I could reach that point again :)...one little bite and then the second and you know too what they add up to!

I'll keep track of my loss on my Sparks page...This AM I was down 2 oz :) and I'm proud of that! Oh My...

I also have HBP, Hi cholesterol, and more, including age for added incentives...You too have extra health problems that will be conquered once you lose and keep off this extra weight we are striving to achieve...

That sounds exactly like my stories(s). Over the course of my adult life ( I am now 66), I have lost 40 - 50 pounds at least 6 times, and I eventually gain it back and then some. Two years ago found out I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic and 5 pounds over the mark I said I would NEVER let myself get to. That scared me, so.......I lost 45 pounds one more time.......Well, guess what? Yep--25 pounds of it came back. So in January of this year I thought OK...we can do this again, so I managed to lose 15 of those 25, but since May gained 10 of those 15 back already. I feel doomed! BUT, soldier that I am and with the motivation that I have GOT to stay healthy so I can keep working, here I am, trying again. Thank you for your blog--it reminds that I'm not the only one with the same struggle. I guess there is hope to keep at it.
