Large Scale Deception

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

This week I've been feeling a bit down. I weighed myself yesterday and found I'd gained a pound....inexplicably...No cheats no pigging out...I KNOW that weight fluctuates and that that is all it likely is...but still. You know how it is: you finally face the scale and it gives you bad news. It can ruin your day. (I know I'm giving the scale way too much power. Old anorexic habits die slowly)

So today I was searching through my closet...we are having an Indian Summer this week and I wanted to wear something not too warm. I found a pair of capris...never been worn. I never ever fit them --I couldn't even pull them up. So I summoned my courage and put them on. And they fit PERFECTLY!! Take that you stupid scale!

So now I'm comforted and ready once again to fight the good fight--again.

    GREAT non scale victory!!

Yes, old habits die hard. Can you limit yourself to weighing once a week? Whatever you are doing is working so let it be and don't micro manage it. Just keep it up! You are doing amazing!

Susanski, Thanks for your comment, I can truly relate. Actually this summer when I had my ankle surgery they weighed me in my cast and it was 200. (which is a loss) ...The NEXT week or two when they weighed me the scale said 186!! YAHOOO Party !! HOWEVER the NEXT time they weighed me I was 206!!! BOOOOHHIIIISSSS. I had them reweigh me several times....and, you guessed it. the numbers were different every time!!
I weighed myself when I got home and I weighed 203. Since then I've gotten down to 195 ( ok 196 :P ). So yeah sweetie, I know exactly what you mean!!

Awesome! What a great feeling that is. I do know about the scale though. I've been there. You know you've done nothing to 'deserve' that nasty little blip, and you know the reasoning, but it still hurts right down to your core. Relish the closet victory, that's a biggie! Don't let the scale get to you. You're doing great.
