New dinner ideas this week

Thursday, October 27, 2016

I like to try new recipes for dinner - hubby likes the same old stuff. I just wanted to keep a record of what I fixed this week to look back on. Hubby liked the meals and doctor told him to only have red meat twice a week.

Sunday - grilled pork chops
Monday - cheeseburger salad with balsamic grape tomatoes (Pioneer Woman)
Tuesday - baked chicken hindquarters with rice
Wednesday - ground turkey stuffed shells with salad
Friday - garlic shrimp and mushroom risotto

For lunch I like Dole chopped salads with flavored tuna added. I love the Starkist Tuna Creations (Lemon Pepper & Herb/Garlic are my favs). I've been trying to watch the starches (bread/rice) for my meals. I have only lost about 1.5 pounds the last two weeks, but at least the scale is going in the right direction. I've been watching youtube videos on meal prep or what others are eating on their varied diet plans. It is kind of interesting to see what others are eating.

There are days that I can't get away from the office and just grab what might be in the cabinet or fridge to eat for lunch. I know next week I will need to have some healthy lunch options at the office as I will be doing end of month paperwork. I would like to spend next weekend with my DD and need to get the paperwork/payroll done a day early. It will be a busy week!
The cat and dog have both been to the vet this week - dog has a lump on her shoulder but vet thinks it is a fatty tumor but I need to keep an eye on it - cat has been very sick with fever/diarrhea - he got wormer, antibiotic, & pro-biotic . We tried to give him a pill twice a day and poor hubby has been scratched and bitten. Now we are going to try to dissolve it in warm water and use a syringe (per the vet instructions). We will see how that goes! Almost wish I had a camera going. Today the cat spit the pill out 3x. We also need to put flea medicine on him (dog brings the fleas inside). Poor kitty! emoticon

I've been watching lots of sports the last few weeks. Love this time of year with football, baseball, and racing all on TV at the same time. Hubby doesn't care for sports so I watch with the cat in another room. Sometimes I even watch golf. (I used to love to go golfing with my folks.) He might watch the final game of the season - Superbowl/World Series.

The weather has been nice for walking with the cooler temps and low humidity. It makes it a little easier to get in about 30 minutes of exercise a day.
Not a lot going on here. Just enjoying the fall weather. Hope you are having a good week! If you have any dinner ideas or healthy lifestyle tips, please share them!

I agree with imustloseit... Hate sports on TV...so does Bob. Too funny how you love it and he doesn't...usually the other way around. Enjoy! Make sure to get up and move during commercials! πŸšΆπŸ’ƒ

My hubby is a sports addict. I don't mind a couple with the noise in the background, but, wow! It's every evening all year round.

Yeah, what is with all the sports, We don't in any way shape or form watch any sports, and I absolutely hate it when the take my shows off for some sport thing. I thought that is why they have sports channels, I don't see them running my show on there channel, Fair is Fair. lol
