Become an organ donor. Save a life.

Monday, November 14, 2016

I was married for a short time. Less than two years. My husband was perfect for me! Then at the end of August in 2013 a blood vessel broke in brain stem. He bled out and ended up having a seizure which lead him to be put on life support. My husband and I had a talk the week before it happened what we would want. I didn't know you needed proper documents. Anyway, my husband told me to take him off. He wanted quality not quantity of life. I decided to donate his organs because I wanted something good to come from all my pain and suffering of losing my beloved husband. Today I was supposed to get a check in the mail, but it didn't come. Instead I got a gift worth so much more than money and gave me greater joy than any amount of money ever could: I received a letter from the gentleman who received my husband's lungs. He is alive and well! God works in mysterious ways! We may not always get what we want but we always get what we need! Sparkle on my fitness family! Sparkle on!

What a wonderful you and your husband gave to others. I speak from first-hand knowledge as I receive the kidney transplant. I will forever be grateful to the people who made that decision.

I am sorry for your loss but at least you know he lives in a different way and that there are people out there who are alive today because of him *hugs*
