On A More Positive Note...

So I saw on Pinterest this blog on making old shirts into skirts for kids. I just so happen to have bags full of clothes still from cleaning out my closet (still have not dropped them off) so I sent my youngest (she LOVES skirts) to go search for possible skirts. The first thing she finds is an old knee length skirt that I love but lost the top to go with it, so was going to donate it. At first I was like, no, I can't do that, then I thought, why not try?

And snip! I sewed an edge about 1 inch from where the real edge was going to be then chopped off all the extra cloth to get it out of the way.

Last I sewed the new edge, cut off all the extra and trimmed up what was left. And it worked, she could totally wear this out somewhere and you would think it was store bought!

Did similar with a shirt. chopped it off under the arms and then sewed a 1 inch waist, added some 1 inch elastic, cut to her size and bunched up the cloth like a scrunchie, it turned out pretty good too, not as good, but it was my very first waist!

Today finished up the last of my planned crochet gifts, my very first boot cuffs! I totally did not like the way that the pattern I was doing started out, so I revamped it. The lady I'm making them for is bigger than I am, so I used my leg as a base for the pattern (crochet stretches). I took pictures, but my phone doesn't want to send them to my computer, so no pictures today! But will post at a later date.

Hope y'all have a great weekend! emoticon
