Daisy and the Snow

Sunday, December 11, 2016

It's finally come - the snow that will be here until Spring. The temps are in the low teens - single digits and below 0 coming in the extended forecast.

It started snowing lightly just before we went to bed but didn't look like much. However, when Daisy and I went out this morning there was at least 5 inches of fresh, light snow. Daisy went out, took care of business, explored for a couple of minutes and came in quickly. Although they (the esteemed weather people) said it would end soon - the snow kept coming. Tom went out and spent almost 2 hours blowing the driveway, which now has at least another inch.

I brought my camera when I took Daisy out this afternoon. This is her wondering why I'm standing in the doorway and not sitting in my chair

She's trying to find her familiar smells - but comes up with snow all over her face

She follows her path - this afternoon she hasn't gone too far from the house

Still trying to find her smells

Now she's looking at me wondering why I don't come out to play. See the snow on my lights around the garden - that has to be 7 inches

Yep, the snow is here to stay. Daisy will be perplexed now until spring. She is a sniffer - she walks around the yard every morning smelling the ground to see where the rabbits have been or the squirrels or if there's been a strange doggie hanging out. That's her job to keep us safe.

I must be turning into my mom - she had hundreds of photos of her cats. I can't think of anything I like taking pictures of more than little Daisy!

Oh...little Daisy Doodle is too low to the ground...her little belly rubs! I DO NOT miss the snow and we have been down here in FL since 1979! The only time I miss it is maybe on Christmas Day. If we get lucky this year we might see snow in the Carolina mountains...but will we be able to drive in it...of course NOT!

It should be quite the adventure...I am happy you love to take pics of little beautiful Daisy because I totally love seeing them! emoticon

Wow, SNOW!!! Kathy I think it is so beautiful, but then again, I don't have to live in it. And it is so very cold where you are. I probably would never leave my home cause I hate being so cold. Daisy Doodle will get use to it and pretty soon, she will probably stay out there longer and longer. Most goldens love the snow once they have been around it. Is your son's ST. Bernard loving it? I bet he is just in heaven with the snow. And this is what you have to live in until your Spring comes? I can only imagine what it would be like and such an adjustment to do when you are a full time resident in Minnesota. You definitely cannot be a "WOOSE!"
I am just about to make some dinner. I am so relieved to be back in my humble abode. Kathy, if I never get on an airplane again, I am a happy camper. Aren't I terrible? My mother tells me I am too young to feel that way and I keep on telling her I can't help it but I just don't have the energy like most "normal" people have...I am facing the music I guess.
And I am okay about it too. It is what it is! Okay, off to the kitchen, I will be back in a few.....xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
