I'd just like to say how grateful I am today that I do not have to go anywhere. Watching the news tonight, seeing all the people struggling to get from one point to another while the wind blows and the snow swirls so much that you can barely see right in front of you. I remember those days, and it was not a fun experience.
Today I turned up the heat before I took Daisy outside. Her feet got cold within just a couple of minutes so I hurried her back in the house. We sat in my warm cozy room and had hot coffee - Daisy snuggling close to me on the couch. What could be better than that.
After the last couple of days, I really needed a perfect day like this. I wanted a nice hot dinner tonight so I found a new recipe for chuck roast with vegetables and had it going in the slow cooker by 11 a.m. We just finished one of the best roast beef dinners we've ever had. The best part - after about 20 minutes of prep this morning all I had to do was sit down and eat.
This entire day has been quite perfect like that. Tom had an appointment so he stopped at the bank to pick up the cash we need for Christmas gifts. I finished cleaning my house - with my knee still hurting I didn't get it all done yesterday. I have a few things yet to put away but that won't take too long. I've done some knitting, some laundry, some reading, and a bit more on-line shopping. Right now my candles are lit in the living room and I'm winding down for the day.
I hope everyone out there has had a good day today and for those of you who had to be out in this awful bitter cold - make sure to bundle up. Just going outside for a few minutes with Daisy I put on a hooded sweatshirt, a very warm soccer coach jacket my son gave me, a heavy wool scarf around my neck, my boots, and I sit with 2 blankets over my legs. You should see the way Daisy looks at me while I'm getting ready. And tomorrow I'm going to remember to take my cell phone because if I fell outside I'm sure Tom wouldn't find me for at least an hour!
Have a good night everyone.
