I can have coffee again! (if you've read my blog for a while you know how much I have missed coffee for the past 12 weeks!) I finally have gotten to the point where artificial sweeteners actually taste sweet to me, instead of like something to gag on. I don't know if this is a good thing or not but it means that I can have coffee again. Powdered creamer has like one or 2 grams of carbs and I'm allowed 10 extra's a day. I have splenda in my coffee, and it is not the best, but it is good enough. It is nice to have coffee on these cold, cold mornings!
I'm up and dressed to lace up shoes! My sink is clean (it is a material that does not shine). Hair and face are not done yet as I'm about to work out, if my pain level will let me. I'm going to have to tweak Flylady's morning routine. I like my morning routine. Adding shoes does get me ready to work out faster, so I'm all for that. But I enjoy sitting here reading and writing on SP while drinking coffee. It is my morning 'me' time. I refuse to be rushed first thing in the morning. I'm adding in the Flylady emails come Monday, and I'll tell you, I'm nervous. The massive amounts of emails are what made me quit last time around, but she is adamant that you need the email. So if they overwhelm me, I'll get rid of the emails, not the routine! I'm also much better at keeping my email inbox down to like 10 or 20 emails, I like it that way.
I did work out yesterday, only for 41 minutes, but they can't all be 60 minute days. I was thinking about hiking training, and I'm going to have to get to where I have a morning and afternoon workout - get there, not right away. Gotta work up to it. And also have my long days on Saturdays. Saturday's are when we will go on real hikes once the weather changes again (months from now) so that works out perfectly. Both DD's are on board. Oldest DD wants to do the overnight hike with us (I think not! Not til she's older) and youngest DD is wanting to skip out on even the longer day hikes. Those two are such opposites.
Looks like I may not get to work out this morning, I'm in a lot of pain just sitting, may have to wait till DH gets up so I can take my hot bath and use my cream med. At least it is not as much pain as it was, I am thankful to God for that!
I'm searching for good strength training routines. I'm thinking I'll use the workout generator here on SP. I already have a list of good strength training exercises for hikers for legs, I'll also need core and arms. I figure I'll do 3 days a week till I get better at it then double it, alternating. That is going to be a while though, I'm not wanting to overdo or injure myself. Slow and steady.
I'm sure you've seen it, but there is a shirt i want. It says, "I run, I'm slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter, but I run!"
I'm not sure what to do about the C25K training. I can't right now, not till I'm healed. But I'd like to. But can you train for a hike and a 5K at the same time? One is about endurance and walking for long periods of time, the other is about running a short period of time. Hiking training comes first for me, so I'll have to research and see what I can find.
