New Month, New Start, New Book

Wednesday, February 01, 2017

Today is the start of a new challenge and I realize that I have failed to purchase the book, "Friends with the Scale" by Linda Spangler. So, have I ever told you how much I love Amazon? Just makes shopping so easy! I downloaded the kindle app on my phone and purchased the kindle version for $3....quick, easy, and so simple.

I truly feel that I have a better relationship with the scale than I did a year ago...maybe more (I can't remember exactly). I used to get on it everyday after my shower and allow the number to set the mood for my day...what a bad idea!

What changed? Well, I have read so much about how you can sabotage your whole plan by letting the number on the scale rule you. Also, by exercising with my friend in the mornings, I am showering at work and there is not a scale in the bathroom where I can weigh myself as soon as I get out of the shower before getting dressed. I had told myself that I would weigh once per week but lately, that hasn't been happening. I just kind of put the weight on the back burner and try to focus on how my clothes feel.

I'm excited to learn more and help myself find the motivation to reach my goals. We have started a challenge at work that requires me to write down everything I eat for four weeks. I really thought I was doing much better than I am. It's a struggle for me to eat vegetables like I know I need to. I like them, it's just that I haven't really made the extra effort to make sure I get some each meal.

I'm excited for this new start! I know that I can do it....I just have to push myself harder than I ever have before! And remember that it's more about the diet than the exercise, although both are important.

Have a great day, my friends!
