New class - SO SCARY!

Thursday, March 09, 2017

Have you heard of Orangetheory Fitness?

I'm about to try it on Saturday. I'm seriously going at 7am because I'm afraid I'll chicken out if I do it any later in the day. I have to open my eyes, put on my shoes, and walk out the door. No excuses!

The way it works:
You wear a heart rate monitor, and they put your info up on a screen with everybody else. You basically watch the screen and make sure that your heart rate is in the zone they want you to hit during that time period. All with a coach and lots of bumping music.

Questions:
Am I too old for this?
Am I too fat for this?
Will I die?
Will the heart rate thingy fit?
Will I be the fattest one in the class?
Will I leave before it's over?
Will I need to lay down on the floor during the class?
Etc.?

I have a friend who is obsessed with this, so I'm going to give it a try. Theoretically (no pun intended - ha!) it's based on research and should therefore totally work. I need to get my buns moving, so I'm ready to go for it. This is it. It's time.

I'll post a blog Sat to let you know how it went! I'm so scared!! emoticon

Good for you to try it. I'm now in a program with the Army Wellness Center (my late husband was a Navy retiree) and found out that I've lost weight....AND muscle. I love all these "gadgets" that help us know more about our very unique bodies.

You'll love it! Lots of variety and you use so many different muscles. I've been going for over a year. You're not too old--I'm FIFTY! There are all different body types and ages. Have fun! (Ok, the fun part is when it's over and you know you did it)
