HERE WE GO AGAIN ; { .......... DH.............
Monday, April 03, 2017

We went to the Clinic on 3/24, John had lab work, done, EKG, Echo, saw Oncology/Cardio Nurse. These tests were all ok ! She called a Dr., he wanted John admitted for observation & test. We asked if we could come back Mon. cause we had a sick cat at home who needed meds and had no one to do it. Plus you know on a weekend in a hospital all dept. are not open, & we didn't want to just sit there all weekend & have nothing done. Plus I had no clothes etc. John didn't want to stay. They agreed, so we headed home after him getting a chest xray done first. We were over 1/2 way home & my cell rings, it's John's Oncology Dr's. Nurse NP., she says he has a collapsed lung & has to be admitted ! We turned around & went back. Worrying how were going to walk from the parking deck to where we needed to be. Thank God the Valet's were still there ! We go in, gave his name at the desk, told us to sit down till they call him in to be registered. I realize I forgot my phone in the car after it fell off my lap and I said I'd pick it up when we got out of the car at the Clinic. I walked back to the Valet Desk, give the girl our ticket & tears start running down my face ! Oh my ! The dam broke. I'm trying to tell her what happened. I couldn't understand myself, so sure she didn't either ! LOL I had to sound like a blubbering fool ! LOL They were both young ladys maybe in their early 20's. They were so sweet. The one says it will all work out, you'll be fine, everything is ok. She patted my hand ! I went & sat down waited for our SOUL to come. I thanked them both when I left to go to our SOUL. It was the same girl that took it to park.
I went back to find John, he was in the register office. That lady was another sweetheart, took us right up to his room. That was after 8 PM. They put an IV in him first off, after 9 trys they were successful !!! Kept coming in all night on & off, checking vitals, and taking blood for lab work, which they did every day & night we were there. Dr. come in with an few residents. Said he wanted a Thorancentisis done (spelling) Sat. (they drain the fluid out of the lung putting a tube into your back into the lung) He's going to do everything he can to get it cause it needs done. He leaves the one Resident stayed, sits on the bed next to John, says something about our kitty. I never did find out how he knew we even had one. Then mentions Jib Jab having the best Hot Dogs in the world !!! I asked him how in the world he knew about Jib Jab ??? He & his brother had been going though on Rt. 80 & stopped to get something to eat. He loves them! They do have really good dogs. LOL He told us to call him Nabil (his first name) Also he would do everything he could to get it done. Sat. we waited all day, his nurse kept coming in to let us know they hadn't heard anything yet. A Dr. came back said they're still looking for someone, it might be someone from ICU. OK, 4 PM, 3 people come in with equipment to do it ! It took them about 45 min. They got 2 Liters of fluid out, which was blood tinged. The fluid was going to be checked for cancer. John felt quite a bit better, breathing was easier. They said there was more fluid, but they quit at 2 L John spiked a fever the next day for 3 days-102.8 highest. They did blood cultures, checking blood everyday, all came back ok. finally started him on an antibiotic IV. to be continued.......
