Sleep at last!/ She said what?/Health

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

I slept last night! I woke up a LOT, but I was able to go back to sleep very quickly. I had a lot of very vivid, weird dreams as well. As if my brain had to make up for all the nights of no dreaming in one night. I feel more tired today than I did the entire 5 weeks of 0-3 hours of sleep a night. It's like my brain and body got a night of sleep and are now demanding more! Hoping to go take a nap in a few. I feel so drained.

My 'friend' C stepped over the line. I know part of it is concern for me, my blood pressure was 150/110 at my doctor's appointment (long story), but she insulted my husband. She called the meat that he smoked 'ghetto smoked meat'. What? In what reality did she think that was okay? He was the first person to see the text too. And now she keeps texting me about healthy foods and snacks and what she had for lunch. I'm not responding because I've still got the blank deer-in-the-headlights look, going "what?!" I honestly don't know how to respond to that. It's been one thing after another with her recently and I think this was the last straw. I'm trying really hard to come up with a response that says "don't message me again" without coming out and being mean, because I'm not a mean person. Not sure how i'm going to do that.

I saw my psychiatrist on Monday and got a referral for an in house sleep study. I had an at home one and it had me as borderline needing a CPAP, the doctor said if I had an in house one it would have been more accurate. And my snoring has gotten worse during the short times that I sleep. Monday I saw my doctor's NP and she set me up an appointment with the neurologist for my migraines. I have not seen one in over 15 years, so I think I'm overdue. Lots of appointments coming up this month, but I'm happy to be getting them out of the way. Hopefully we will figure out what is going on and get me feeling better and losing weight again! Need to get in with the optometrist as well. On the bright side my A1C is still really great at 5.4!!

Not working out as long as I have a migraine. Once it goes away I will try to work out, but it gets worse every time I exert myself a lot and I don't want to do anything to make this bad again.

Thank y'all for stopping by! Hope ya'll are having a nice day :)

I admire the way you keep hanging in there. You are honest about the everyday struggles. Keep your heart open to God and you will be guided in the way to respond to "C". peace,...

I call people like "C" boundary tramplers. If "C" is a christian then I would have no problem telling her that calling hubby's smoked meat "ghetto" was not something that friends do.

Something like: "I was hurt when you said that the meat was ghetto meat. It was an insensitive thing to say." If she responds with "I"m sorry" that is great, but I wouldn't bet on it. If she responds with "but" and "but" and "but" (excuse after excuse) you may have to say that you 2 are not on the same page on this subject, and even that you'd are going to give this relationship space.

She may never get that what she did is not loving nor encouraging. She may have one of those raw, abrasive personalities that just doesn't get it. Even when things are literally spelled out for her. Sadly I married into a family where hints are not taken, everything has to be spelled out, and I am the proverbial bad guy for those 1 or 2 times that I called them out on their lack of thoughtfulness and their rude behaviors.

If "C" is a christian, then I would hope she would want to reconcile the friendship. That being said, I've met a lot of christians that feel justified in their narrow, shallow opinions, and reconciliation is not on their radar.

Do you want prayers to pray over your sleep? I've been praying for 15 years specific targeted prayers that have helped substantially.
