It's all about movement.

Movement. Now some may think I mean the movement we get from exercise. That movement is great but it's not the movement I want to chat about today. I want to chat about personal movement that comes from accomplishing a goal or a challenge, even if you never set out to or even realized you were doing it till it is done.
My recent realization comes from a challenge I gave myself 6.5 weeks ago. I set out to break my addiction to refined white sugar. This meant giving up some things that I adored...Tim Horton's Iced Cappuccinos, Dr. Pepper, ice cream, cake, cookies, doughnuts...things that would bring great pleasure to me and calm the restlessness in my soul, for awhile, till I had my sugar crash and the cravings would start all over. But I did it, none-the-less, and a funny thing happened, I lost all desire for the crappy kind of sweets! I found that I can attend social gatherings or even watch my hubby eat a bowl of ice cream and not feel left out or angry that I can't have the sugary treats others are having.
One of the things I told myself from the start was that I wouldn't deny myself anything else while I was working on this goal. This means no diet restrictions in the beginning. As long as I kept off the refined white sugar. And I have, for 6.5 weeks. Too me that is huge movement towards better health and to reaching other goals and making more challenges for myself.
Did I mention I am now working on not mindlessly snacking after dinner? 2.5 weeks now. Movement...
