It's been a busy 18 months!

Mostly I spent it eating everything that wasn't nailed down. Retirement combined with radical self-acceptance led to downright hedonism, at least above the neck. I'm too old and tired for that other stuff.
But now I've been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I suppose it was inevitable under the circumstances. If I'm going to own my choices, I also have to own the consequences.
The trouble is, the ADA is about twenty years behind the times in its nutritional guidelines for diabetics, and, given its very profitable relationship with Big Pharma, I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. Fortunately my old nursing background combined with my love of researching led me to a viable alternative, Dr. Richard Bernstein's Diabetic Diet, a modified LCHF (low carb high fat) way of eating. I've only been at it for two weeks, and already my numbers have gone down.
I've modified my nutritional goals in my settings to reflect my maximum carb intake and my macros (carb/protein/fat percentages), and I'm ready to rock and roll!
