Back On Track

People always talk about the holidays and keeping up with calories and exercise. For my family it's spring time. Birthdays, graduations, Mother's and Father's Day, we are inundated with reasons for lots of food and cake. Yesterday we had a huge taco pot luck for my niece's birthday. I ate too much and blew my calorie count. Today I'm disappointed in myself.
These days are always going to come in and out of our lives. I'm not going to make myself miserable by not tasting the yummy cooking from my family, but I also need to find a way to not make myself miserable the next day either.
Balance is always a theme in my life (mostly because it's so elusive to me). Eat too little and work too hard or eat too much and don't work at all, there is no in between. That's why I track, track, track. If I don't obsess and keep vigilant with it, I won't do it at all. Today I'm going to work on detoxing my system. I'm going to exercise and eat right and go back to meal prepping. Yesterday's failures are not going to deter today's successes.
The great thing about life, when you feel you have gone off track you can always get back on track. Change your mind, change your life.
